Dear Patients

We at Hartford Area Pediatrics are growing with you! We are excited to inform you that next month we are moving to a larger office at 21B Arts Center Court, Avon.

Our new office space will allow us to increase our availability to patients while maintaining our commitment to personalized, family-friendly pediatric care. The new office is located off of Ensign Drive, across the street from our current location.

Our phone number will remain the same and there will be no interruption in office hours. Please be advised that starting Monday May 3rd, 2010 all scheduled appointments will take place at the new location.

Dr. Meredith Barrows

The growth of our office and this letter also give me the opportunity to formally announce Dr. Meredith Barrows, who has worked on a part-time basis since 2008 in our office. As a board-certified pediatrician, a certified lactation consultant and a female provider, she is an important addition to Hartford Area Pediatrics and will be increasing her office hours in the coming months.

Quality Care Initiatives

Additionally, we will continue to implement quality care initiatives, including an upgraded computer and telephone system that will allow our office to run more efficiently. Since our inception we have used electronic health records and view technology as a way to improve patient care. We are therefore well positioned to face future healthcare reform requirements and technological advances.

While e-medicine initiatives such as incorporating HIPAA - compliant patient email or having an online patient portal may be in our future, we want you to know that a personal friendly voice that knows you will remain the most important part of our office.

Schedule Physical Exams Now

Lastly, with this letter I would like to encourage you to schedule any needed physical exams in advance of school, camp or sports deadlines. Since the summer season is a very busy one for us, we can better accommodate you if you book early.

Remember to allow up to 1 week for completion of forms, and provide a self-addressed stamped envelope if you need them mailed.
